(Conflict with coworkers)

Situation+Task:

My team had to build and implement a new marketing campaign for a school project.

I was assigned to oversee the project and assign tasks to each team member.

One team member was upset that I was chosen to lead the team.

 

Action:

I asked him to meet privately to learn why he was upset.

I remained calm and listened carefully. I explain the importance of the project.

I also added if we work hard and pull it off together, the professor may notice this and consider it as a team's success.

He agreed and completed the task.

 

Result:

As a result, we could get a good grade on the project.

 

(Conflict with the boss)

Situation+Task:

I once disagreed with my boss over how to best help a customer.

 

Action:

I didn't want to question his authority in front of everyone, I talked to him off the floor.

I tried to be open and honest about the problems.

 

It turned out that there was a simple misunderstanding.

My boss understood the way I wanted to do things.

He even thanked me that I didn't confront him in front of other employees.
